Goodwill Silicon Valley Launches Unique Donation Service & iOS App

Feb. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- San Jose, CA -- Goodwill of Silicon Valley announced today the launch of its new Donation Service and iOS App developed in partnership with InstantMobile Solutions, a premier provider of interactive mobile solutions. This new service simplifies and streamlines the giving process while documenting and maintaining donor’s tax-related information in the Cloud.

Donors download and use the iOS App to easily create a Donation File to document items they are donating. The donor can photograph and assign a value to each donated item—providing detailed donation records that are accessible at any time. At the Goodwill donation site, a donation attendant confirms the donation, generating a digital record that eliminates the need for often misplaced paper receipts.

The InstantMobile solution drives a closer, interactive relationship between Goodwill and its donors. The donor experience evolves from simply dropping off unwanted items to establishing an interactive, ongoing relationship with Goodwill. The solution includes a digital vault for donor’s donation records, the ability for individuals to donate funds to Goodwill, to opt-in to receive email and text messages, and to share their “good deeds” across social networks like Facebook and Twitter. The service is free to Goodwill’s donors and shoppers.

All of Goodwill Silicon Valley’s 18 retail stores and 25 donation and recycling sites will now be able to issue digital receipts. If a donor does not have an iPhone or iPad, the service is also available through their phone’s or computer’s browser at donate.goodwillsv.org
