Mary Ann Wakeley Receives 1st Place Overall in All Women Art Competition

Feb. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- The worldwide art competition was held online from the middle of December 2011 through January 2012. The "women only" art competition attracted more than 1,200 entries from 310 women artists. The art gallery holds monthly art competitions and art exhibitions and the All Women Art Exhibition is now featured on the gallery website at www.lightspacetime.com for the month of February 2012.

Mary Ann describes her artwork as "an expression of an affinity with color and line. I use them to depict a rich inner landscape, one that is colored by a feeling that occurs during the creative process. Within this landscape are stories that take place at any point in time--snapshots of moments new and perhaps relived, relationships that play out where the actors are represented by any number of marks."

John R. About Mary Ann Wakeley

Mary Ann Wakeley was born in 1961 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She continues to live and work in the Philadelphia area. In January 2012, one in a series of "New Math" paintings on canvas, along with several recent works on paper, were featured in a solo show titled "Pulse" at Luxe 218 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
