Feb. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Naperville Area Humane Society (NAHS) is thrilled to announce its next adoption promotion: My Furry Valentine. Beginning February 10 and running through February 20, all adoption fees will be significantly reduced.

“At Valentine’s Day, everyone thinks of giving candy, but we think it would be exciting for a family to come to the shelter together to adopt a pet,” said Angie Wood, executive director at NAHS. “We certainly don’t advocate giving animals gifts because adding a pet to the family is a major decision for everyone involved. If you’ve been thinking about adopting a cat or dog, however, stop in and take advantage of these lower fees. Valentine’s Day is all about love, so why not provide a deserving pet with a loving home.”

My Furry Valentine promotional adoption fees are:  adult cats $25, kittens $100, adult dogs $100, and puppies $150. At NAHS, all animals have received an initial vet exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, and a microchip. Cats are FeLV/FIV negative, and dogs have been tested for heartworm disease. All animals are spayed or neutered before going into their new homes.

Adoption counselors are always available to speak with visitors about the animals’ needs and personalities. For more adoption information, please visit www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org, or visit the shelter at 1620 W. Deihl Road in Naperville anytime during open hours; no appointment is necessary to view the animals.
