Wildlife Trading Company partners with Marinescape at Greater Cleveland Aquarium

Wildlife Trading Company [WTC], a leading retail outsource partner for cultural attractions, has been select by Marinescape, operators of the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, to manage their retail service.

“We are excited about this wonderful opportunity to provide guests of the Greater Cleveland Aquarium with a unique retail experience.  WTC has a long history of proven results in Aquariums, and we expect nothing less for the Greater Cleveland Aquarium,” said James Ward, Executive Vice President of Wildlife Trading Company.

As part of Wildlife Trading Company’s agreement, WTC was responsible for designing and outfitting the Aquarium’s retail space. This welcome challenge was a familiar one to WTC, who in its over thirty-year history has been responsible for numerous retail build-outs within Zoos and Aquariums.

“Wildlife Trading Company, working with the Marinescape and Greater Cleveland Aquarium teams, we have been able to do what we do best, create a one of a kind shopping atmosphere that marries the facility’s mission with unique and interesting merchandise,” continued Ward.

Andrew Hearn of Marinescape, elaborated on the partnership, “After a national RFP process it was decided that Wildlife Trading Company was the best fit for our new facility.  They [WTC] bring to us a vast amount of experience in design and operation of retail within aquarium attractions.  We feel confident that we have selected a partner that will deliver the highest level of service for our guests.”

Tamera Brown, General Manager of Greater Cleveland Aquarium adds, “The Aquarium is ecstatic to have Wildlife Trading Company on board. Their professionalism and understanding of retail within aquarium environments will complement our facility and our mission. Partnering with Wildlife Trading Company will allow aquarium staff to focus on our core competences of operating the aquarium, while yielding a positive retail result.”

The only free standing aquarium in Ohio, The Greater Cleveland Aquarium features a million gallons of water in 35 tanks located in the FirstEnergy Powerhouse building. The Aquarium opened its doors to the public on January 21th 2012.

Wildlife Trading Company currently operates in five aquariums. They include the Alaska SeaLife Center, Seward, AK; Oregon Coast Aquarium, Newport, OR; Oklahoma Aquarium, Jenks, OK; Albuquerque Aquarium, Albuquerque, NM; and Coral World Ocean Park, ST. Thomas, USVI.
