Kickstarter Helps Farmers Market Sow Seeds!

Feb. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- The Mount Jackson Farmer’s Market launched its crowdfunding project on KickStater at noon on Friday.  Within 24 hours, they received over $1,000 in pledges, with more rolling in every hour!

The Market only has 27 days left to raise $25,000, but is offering rewards to support raising $750,000!

“Without this parking lot, we can’t open our doors!” says market co-founder, Gerald Forsburg.

“Ideally, we’d like to raise the entire $750,000 needed to renovate the building.  Raising this money through crowdfunding will allow us to keep our overhead down, which means we can keep costs to vendors down.  This is important for many of the small-scale farmers trying to build their business.”

The Mount Jackson Farmers Market is giving amazing rewards for helping fund the project, including weekend getaways, a host of Farmers Market stuff, and an over-the-top “experience package” for up to 21 people that includes private jet service and hot air balloon rides over the Valley!

This is a project in the community, for the community, and designed to support the many progressive farmers in the area.
