V3Gate is Certified by the Department of Veterans Affairs

Feb. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Reston, Va. -- V3Gate, a trusted provider of technology solutions to the US Government and commercial entities, today announces they are officially certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). V3Gate has been added to the list of certified small businesses on www.VetBiz.gov.  

The objective of the VA's verification program is to identify businesses that falsely claim to be owned and controlled by a Veteran, and to strengthen those Veteran-owned businesses that truly are legitimate.  According to an internal audit, the VA estimated they awarded approximately $500m in contracts to non-legitimate businesses in 2010.  

"Becoming certified is an important step for us," said Oscar Valdez, CEO of V3Gate and disabled Army Veteran, "It allows us to compete as a prime for the large VA contracts and it strengthens our credibility as we vie for major set-aside contracts with other agencies including the departments of Homeland Security, Defense, Energy and Labor. We anticipate that eventually all agencies, not just the VA, will require SDVOSB's to be certified in order to be eligible for their set-aside contracts."

As a certified business, V3Gate will be eligible to compete for VA contracts under the Veterans First Contracting Program. This Federally approved program places SDVOSB's first in satisfying the VA's acquisition requirements. It also allows for higher sole sourcing thresholds, and benefits the large prime contractors who receive subcontracting credits when they use verified businesses.
