By: MiCTA "MiCTA has always been focused on the use of technology in education," says John Sundstrom, President of MiCTA. "We have worked to make telecommunications services and technology affordable for our members, but we believe that we can play a greater role in helping our K-12 and Library members introduce new technologies and showcase innovative technology solutions that other members can use." The MiCTA K-12/Library Technology Impact Grant seeks to provide up to $20,000 in matching funds for a proposal that will help introduce a technology or service that is currently under a MiCTA contract to a current MiCTA K-12 or Library member. A second, separate grant – the MiCTA K-12/Library Technology Innovation Grant – will provide as much as $20,000 in matching funds for a proposal that uses one or more of MiCTA's contracted products to create an innovative technological solution or application that can be used as a model for other MiCTA members. Grant winners will also be invited to make a brief presentation regarding their proposal at the MiCTA Virtual Conference, to be held online in November 2012. The grant program will accept applications from MiCTA members from February 1, 2012 to May 25, 2012. Recipients will be notified by August 17, 2012. Non-members that wish to submit a proposal must also submit a membership application with their grant materials.
