Planning permission given to Bruntwood for Leeds property City House

Feb. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- A scheme to redevelop Leeds building City House, which towers above the city's train station, has been granted planning permission following successful submission by family-owned office space provider Bruntwood.
Once the overhaul is complete, office space (http://www.bruntwood.co.uk/office-space) in the building will be available for rental by small and large businesses alike, from serviced offices to luxurious bespoke suites. Bruntwood intends to ensure that the 14-storey, 120,000 sq ft property will be Grade A standard and will achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating.
The new design will incorporate a contemporary foyer staffed by a concierge-style team, complemented by a striking mezzanine level to wow both residents and visitors.
Craig Burrow, Bruntwood's director of Leeds, said: "City House will benefit from meticulous design, precision craftsmanship and the highest quality materials to ensure it impresses on every level."
"The building will be priced to appeal to a wide range of occupiers and our aim is to develop vibrant and well-functioning places that create the right environments for our customers to succeed.
"Our proposals include re-cladding the building’s exterior, remodelling the pedestrian entrance and public realm and creating additional access to the basement car park."
Bruntwood now owns five buildings in Leeds, all of which offer office space to rent (http://www.bruntwood.co.uk/office-space/leeds). It acquired City House in July 2010 and has high hopes for its future.  
The company's occupancy rate in the city is 99 per cent, with other properties including northerly Hepworth Point and financial district buildings West One, 14 King Street and West Gate.
Serviced offices in Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are also included in Bruntwood's business portfolio.
