The long established hairdressing guru believes he is responding to growing demand for a career that would offer victims of redundancy new skills that would provide the key to new and secure jobs or even self-employment as future salon owners.
“The difficulties of the economic climate have made more people look at changing career, perhaps after being made redundant or indeed just wanting to realise their dream of becoming a hairdresser,”
“Existing hair salon employees may want to update and further their skills and qualifications to enable them to rapidly move ahead in their careers.
“Hard times make you re-evaluate your situation and often something good comes out of what initially looks like a problem,” continued Nicky Oliver. “The quality of some of our trainees has been exceptional and many leave the Academy not only with new qualifications, but also a new enthusiasm for life and of course a new and exciting career ahead of them.”
The new Nicky Oliver Level 3 Combination Course, which includes NVQ Level 3, Level 2 Barbering Certificate and the Nicky Oliver Diploma is an intensive, practical course, designed to enable students to become a more professional stylist working to a high standard with a more in-depth understanding, and experience of, the hairdressing profession.
“This combination course is obviously more advanced,” said Nicky, “But we offer lots of other courses for all different entry levels, from complete beginners, those who just want to ‘dip their toe’ in to the world of hairdressing and see if they like it, to students who are already on their way to becoming a qualified stylist.”
“Whatever level, training within the Nicky Oliver Academy is inspirational, innovative, fun, motivational, confidence-building and life-changing. We work in small groups so we get to know individual needs and will be with our students every step of the way!”
