Follow on Google News | Men’s Health Network Applauds New CDC HPV Guidelines - Will Prevent Cancer in Men and WomenMHN Health Promotion Director Ana Fadich statement today, in support of new CDC’s guidelines which recommend the same vaccination treatment against HPV for boys as have been in place for girls since 2006
“Men’s Health Network applauds the CDC for updating their guidelines to protect all boys and girls - and the men and women that they will grow up to be. The CDC decision announced today is a major step forward in saving lives from the ravage of cancer. “We urge parents of teenage boys to note that though the CDC recommends that the vaccine be given to boys ages 11 and 12, it also calls for boys and men up to the age of 21 to “catch-up” “Cancer takes too many lives for us to miss such a golden opportunity to prevent it. Men have the responsibility to themselves and their partners to protect them from cancer causing HPV infections. “We appreciate the CDC’s work to rectify their unequal initial recommendations. HPV strikes both men and women – as does the cancer it causes. We must improve the health outcomes for men as well as women. Today’s CDC recommendation is a step towards that goal.” Men's Health Network (MHN) is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to reach men, boys, and their families where they live, work, play, and pray with health prevention messages and tools, screening programs, educational materials, advocacy opportunities, and patient navigation.
