Feb. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Restoration specialist DisasterCare Platinum has added 360–degree cameras to its technology portfolio – a move that will minimise disruption and save the insurance industry money.

The state-of-the-art systems allow loss adjusters and claims handlers to view remotely the progress of restoration work and the extent to which properties have dried out – often ruling out the need for time-consuming and expensive site visits.

DisasterCare Platinum, which deals with high-value and complex fire and flood insurance claims, uses photographs from the cameras in conjunction with its reports.

Charles Jeffrey, of DisasterCare Platinum, said: “We’ve invested a lot in technology recently, and the 360-degree cameras are another hi-tech string to our bow.

“We deal with extremely complex restoration projects, so we want to make things as simple as possible for our customers.

“Clients can cut out unnecessary site visits but still know they are getting up-to-the-minute visual confirmation about how the project is progressing.”

Other cutting-edge services offered by Surrey-based DisasterCare Platinum include

•   Infrared thermography and thermal imaging, which help trace the source of leaks and problems concealed by floor and wall tiles – leading to quicker and less intrusive repairs and lower labour costs

•   Directional drying, which targets air to exactly where it is needed, reducing drying times, energy use and labour costs

•   Injection systems which introduce air directly into water-damaged slabs
