RISCO Group UK introduces a new range of wireless barrier beams

The wireless beams were originally developed for the Italian residential market to provide perimeter protection when windows are left open during the long hot summer months. However, there are many applications that have been recognised in the UK.

Feb. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- The beams are usually installed in the space between the external shutters (that will be closed to provide shade) and the windows that are open to allow a cooling breeze throughout the house.

These wireless barrier beams are now available in the UK and although we don’t have as much sunshine as Italy, there are many situations in which these beams can still provide the ultimate in perimeter protection.

Feedback provided by UK customers has identified numerous internal and external applications where the RISCO wireless barrier beams can provide a faster installation and a more cost effective proposition than traditional wired solutions.

Some examples of suitable applications are: to provide a warning of intrusion across property boundaries – e.g. driveways, gates and garages; roller shutter doors, emergency exits, any large areas of vulnerable glass such as skylights or patio windows and to provide a “trigger” in event driven access control and CCTV systems

The range of RISCO wireless barrier beams comprises of three models; a half metre mounting rail (4 beams) a one metre version (8 beams) both of which have an operating gap of 8 metres when used internally and 5 metres when installed externally. The third model is a compact twin beam unit with an operating gap of 16 metres when used internally and 10 metres externally. If the area to be protected is beyond the average standard door height, it is possible to extend to 2.7 metres high by utilising multiple pairs of synchronised twin beam units. This can provide a “window” of protection that can be extended to a maximum of 16 metres (Wide) by 2.7 metres (High).

These RISCO wireless active infrared beams are the ultimate solution for residential and commercial properties, with features including plug and play auto set up for ease of installation, anti-sabotage with encrypted ID and anti-collision between adjacent units.  Using twin beam technology, they have high false alarm immunity from leaves, blowing debris and small animals as an alarm is only triggered when both beams are obstructed. They can also operate in direct sunlight due to the use of unique IR beam technology. A new ‘patent-pending’ design also allows the beam modules to be installed from the front of each unit for easy replacement or the addition of beam modules without the need to remove the mounting rails from the wall.

The wireless barrier beams are compatible with all of RISCO Group’s wireless and hybrid security systems, and can be used with other manufacturers’ panels when combined with RISCO’s stand-alone Nova Receiver.
