Wake County Public School System Receives $10,000 Donation from Kangaroo Express and BP

Kangaroo Express today announced it has teamed up with BP’s Fueling Communities program to donate a total of $10,000 to the Wake County Public School System. The donation will provide $1,000 to ten schools in the district.
 
Feb. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Cary, N.C., Feb. 1, 2012 – The Pantry, Inc. , the leading independently operated convenience store chain in the southeastern United States, today announced it has teamed up with BP’s Fueling Communities program to donate a total of $10,000 to the Wake County Public School System. The donation will provide $1,000 to ten schools in the district.

"This $10,000 donation will go a long way for schools in Wake County," said Anthony J. Tata, superintendent of the Wake County Public School System. "We are grateful to Kangaroo Express and BP for their donation to our great school system. I am personally eager to watch as this donation helps our schools fund projects that will better the educational environment for our students."

The schools receiving a donation in the Wake County Public School System are Apex High School, Green Hope High School, Jeffreys Grove Elementary School, Leesville High School, Millbrook Elementary School, Millbrook High School, Morrisville Elementary School, Panther Creek High School, and Swift Creek Elementary School.
Check presentations for these schools will take place during school events throughout February and March. The first presentation will occur on Thursday, Feb. 2 at the Business Alliance Meeting at Millbrook High School.

As part of the Fueling Communities program, Kangaroo Express and BP have allocated $30,000 to be distributed among three school districts in communities in which they operate. Charleston County School District, Hamilton County Department of Education and Wake County Public School System will each receive $10,000, to be split between 10 schools, each receiving a $1,000 donation.
