Feb. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- The Volkmann series of VS Vacuum Conveyors are ideal for the clean, gentle, segregation-free transfer of carbon black, toner and pigments in powder or prill form to mixers, packers or processing from paper sacks, bulk bags or IBCs. They use efficient vacuum conveying, superior 0.3µ-standard filtration and convenient common seals between modules to address the challenges of environmental cleanliness, avoidance of product segregation or degradation, and quick production changes.

Volkmann VS Vacuum Conveyors are completely enclosed and transfer product by vacuum force — a significant improvement over other technologies. Vacuum transfer keeps material where it should be: inside the conveyor. When coupled to specially designed rip & tip bag stations or bulk bag unloaders, transfer is achieved without spillage or emissions. In the unlikely event of a leak, air is sucked into the process, rather than blowing material out. Also, because of the dense-phase conveying achieved by Volkmann Multijector™ vacuum pumps, material does not suffer from the impact damage or segregation associated with typical lean-phase pneumatic conveying systems.

Volkmann “plug and convey” modular designs use precise common seals and adjustment-free clamps between modules to let operators quickly change production parameters such as filter area, material type, entry to the receiver, pump size and specification, discharge-flange connections and the use of flow aids. Additional ease-of-use features include floor-level loading and no-tools cleaning. Volkmann VS Vacuum Conveyors are ATEX certified for explosion applications, requiring no additional equipment.
