Follow on Google News | PADT Increases Prototyping Capacity with Addition of 3D Systems ProJet HD6000 SLA SystemPADT improves their rapid prototyping services with the addition of a 3D Systems ProJet HD600 Stereolithography (SLA) System. This addition doubles SLA capacity, is twice as fast , increases accuracy, and allows two SLA materials at the same time.
By: Eric Miller The new Projet HD 6000 is the latest generation of SLA system from 3D Systems. It joins PADT’s Viper Si2 SLA, Sinterstation 25000 Plus Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Connex 500 PolyJet, and a variety of Stratasys FORTUS and Dimension FDM systems. PADT combines this significant breadth and depth in technologies with a level of customer service that is second to none in the industry. Instead of simply downloading a customer’s files, running it, then shipping it PADT works with the customer to determine the best technology for their application. The parts are also post-processed by experienced craftsman. “We have seen a big increase in jobs over the past year or so, and getting this new machine is really going to help our existing customers get their parts faster. It will also allow me to recommend alternative materials and accuracy settings that some of our customers have been looking for.” Says Brad Palumbo, Senior Manufacturing Engineer at PADT, who works closely with customers to get outstanding prototypes. The ProJet HD 6000 supports a build volume of 10 x 10 x 10 inches with a resolution range of 0.125 mm (0.005 in) to .075 mm (.003 in). Layer sizes can be as small as 0.050 mm (.002 in). The machine runs the VisJet materials from 3D Systems that can product a variety of high quality parts that are transparent, strong, flexible, or resistant to high temperatures.
