Jan. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- French culture sets the standard when it comes to romance, and its cuisine is no exception. From savory culinary masterpieces to decadent pastries, the influence of French cooking penetrates the thresholds of kitchens and whisks its way into the menu lineup of many of the world’s most intimate eateries.  For San Diegans seeking to satisfy their taste for authentic French cuisine this Valentine’s Day, Cavaillon’s menu is sure to satisfy the palate.

Nestled in suburbs of San Diego, Cavaillon boasts one of San Diego’s premier French chefs, Swiss-native Chef Michael von Euw.  With a resume including a position as a former executive chef at the French Le Cordon Bleu supper club, Signatures Restaurant of the Seven Seas Voyager (one of only two official “Le Cordon Bleu” restaurants in the world), he marries the best ingredients on the market with traditional cooking techniques to produce classic French favorites.

“I wanted to create a memorable experience for our guests, something that might stay with them long after Valentine’s Day while also expanding their culinary horizons,” said Chef von Euw when asked about his inspiration for this year’s menu. “The secret to ensuring the quality and authenticity of each dish is the method by which you prepare the food.  All of our menu items are prepared using traditional French cooking techniques, which bring out the subtle nuances of the ingredients and result in some of the most amazing flavors.”

For this upcoming Valentine’s Day, Chef von Euw is offering patrons a three-course, French-inspired meal for $65 per person excluding tax and gratuity.  Guests will have their choice of the following:

•   Appetizers: Choice of Caviar Tower with Celeriac Remulade; Seared Foie Gras with Du Pois Lentils; Scallops and Cauliflower Puree; and Roasted Vegetable Salad

•   Main Course: Choice of Lobster with Winter Vegetable Medley; Tenderloin with Parsnip Duo; Duck served with Endive Marmalade; and Gnocchi with Wild Mushroom Fricassee

•   Dessert: Choice of Dark Chocolate and Sea Salt Mousse; Selection of Chocolate Truffles; Fresh Fruit Tart served with Chocolate Ice Cream; and Bread and Butter Pudding served with Vanilla Ice Cream

For wine lovers, a wine pairing option is available for an additional $35 per person.

Cavaillon is located at 14701 Via Bettona in the Santaluz neighborhood of San Diego.  For Valentine’s Day reservations call (858) 433-0483 or visit www.cavaillonrestaurant.com for information.
