Jan. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- STATESBORO, GA: AgSouth Farm Credit CEO Bill Spigener recently announced that Arthur Q. Black, of York County, S.C., has been elected chairman and Charles C. Rucks, of Spalding County, Ga., has been elected vice-chairman, of AgSouth Farm Credit’s board of directors.

Black has been a director of the association since 1995, and Rucks has been a director since 1988. Both were appointed to sit on the association’s Executive, Compensation, Governance, Audit and Policy committees. They assumed their new roles at the cooperative’s board of directors’ meeting held earlier this month.

Black is a peach, hay and produce farmer who operates a retail roadside market and bakery and an agritourism business. He is president of the York County Farm Bureau and serves on the board of the Fruit Advisory Committee of the South Carolina Farm Bureau. Black also serves as president of the board of Farmers Mutual Insurance.

Rucks is a beef and hay farmer and a recently retired dairy farmer. He serves on the boards of the Spalding County Farm Bureau, the Georgia Beef Board and the Upper Flint Water Council. He also serves as a director on the Southern States board.
