Slovenian tourism is growing much faster than the European average

Jan. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- Last year visited our country over three million tourists, this year is predicted significantly increase of the visitors. The growth of 9% comparing to the rest of EU is  above average.
Visitors made close nine million over nights.Regarding to the World Economic Forum and the competitiveness tourist index Slovenia is in the 33rd place among 139 countries.
The director of Slovenian tourist organisation Maja Pak said that the most of the increase in the accommodation is in youth hostels, tourists farms, inns and other accommodations. In camps stay mostly Belgians and Italians, hotels are fulfilled Russian tourists.This year Slovenia is ranked highly in the quality of the national environment, sports facilities, hotel rooms and their accommodation price index.
Less competitive is in the field of the aviation infrastructure, air connections, airport charger, visa policy and flexibility of the workforce. Regarding the flight connections, Marjan Hribar from the tourism directorate in Economic Ministry said, that this is one of the key strategic directions of tourism improvement.Director Pak said that in year 2012 the activity will be set to increase of the competitiveness of Slovenian tourism. The program is set to build partnerships for the marketing and promotion, promotion of the air connections with key markets and building brands Slovenia and especially the marketing of the green tourism.After the crisis year 2009, tourism on a global level as well as Europe recovered.
International tourism is the year of 2010 ended in positive numbers. According to the World Tourism Organization, beyond the borders of their countries travelled  940 million tourists, or 6.6 percent more than in 2009.
