Jan. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Effective immediately business consultant, William Deveau, is officially launching the crowdsourcing aspect of his consulting service.  Clients of his consulting company, Dreamcatcher Business Solutions (DBS), have the option of participating in this program.  Every time we consult with a client our interaction and advice provided is transcribed and becomes part of our blog.  Consultants from all over the world are welcome to visit our website and comment on the advice provided in our blog .  This way the client not only has access our knowledge but the collective knowledge and experience of consultants globally.
Throughout the consulting engagement clients are encouraged to read the advice of other consultants.  At the end of our time together the client will be asked to decide who they feel gave the best advice.  The person who is chosen is rewarded 10% of our consulting fee.  After the client has made their choice for the best advice, we at DBS will also state our opinion of who gave the best advice and why –  but only after the client has first made their choice.

We are currently seeking consultants to not only work with us on our crowdsourcing program, but also with us on future contracts with private individuals, organizations and all levels of government contracts (federal, provincial and municipal).

Every year the Canadian federal government holds aside a specific amount of contracts that only Aboriginal businesses are allowed to bid on.  This is called the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Businesses (PSAB).

In the website for the Aboriginal Human Resource Council (www.aboriginalhr.ca) it states that in 2001 the federal government “conducted more than $262.6 million worth of business with aboriginal suppliers.  By 2003, that number had risen to $487 million”.  In speaking with Leah Penz of the PSAB we asked what the value of set asides were in the most recent fiscal year, her response, as of this writing, was that in the 2010 the “total value of set asides were $590 million”.

Of all contracts that the Government places aside for Aboriginal businesses “at least thirty-three percent of the value of the work performed under the contract will be performed by an Aboriginal business”.  What this translates into is essentially by working with DBS, consultants set themselves up to work on these set aside contracts.  In addition, the federal government strongly encourages the provincial governments to adopt this same set aside policy.  Moreover many crown corporations have created positive relations with Aboriginal firms.  In addition, organizations have formed that encourage corporations in Canada to offer opportunities to aboriginal companies.  Many major corporations have joined these organizations with the intent to work with companies like DBS.
