Dr. Gerald Edds Named 2012 President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery

Gerald Edds, MD, FACS, has been named President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS). Dr. Edds was officially inducted at the AACS 28th Annual Scientific Meeting in Las Vegas.
 
Jan. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- CHICAGO, IL – Gerald Edds, MD, FACS, has been named President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS). Dr. Edds was officially inducted at the AACS 28th Annual Scientific Meeting in Las Vegas.

A well-respected authority on cosmetic surgery with over twenty-five years of experience in the field, Dr. Edds is a triple board-certified surgeon, including the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. He maintains a successful practice in Kentucky, specializing in cosmetic breast surgery, liposuction and facial cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Edds has been a longtime member of the Academy, serving on the Board of Trustees and also as Board Examiner for the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. Earlier in his career, he served on the Board of Directors of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care for 10 years, including two as President. Dr. Edds currently travels across the country inspecting surgery centers for accreditation and also conducts seminars and classes on quality improvement. He also holds the position of Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, training residents in cosmetic surgery, and serves as Director of an AACS-accredited Fellowship program in General Cosmetic Surgery, training surgeons in body, breast, extremity and facial cosmetic surgery.
