By: POSTLETHWAITE Law Firm Podcast on Employee Ownership Following Nick Clegg’s announcement of the Government’s plan to increase employee ownership, this week Robert Postlethwaite is interviewed by David Yeo of the Motley Fool investment website. If you’d like to hear or read the interview, please go to: http://www.fool.co.uk/ @TheMotleyFoolUK #MoneyTalk podcast As well as discussing how and why many more businesses might want to turn themselves into an employee-owned company, the interview also considers the likely impact of public service mutualisation. The Government wishes to see a major change in the way public services are delivered, involving employee-led mutuals (ELM) taking over service provision. These are also often (quite loosely) referred to as social enterprises, cooperatives or mutuals. To learn more about how more public services are likely to be delivered by employee-owned companies, please listen to the podcast. News release ends, 30 January 2012. ------------------------------------------------------------ Notes for Editors: POSTLETHWAITE is a law firm which provides specialist advice on employee share schemes, employee share ownership and majority employee ownership, including EMI share options, approved options, long term incentive plans, Share Incentive Plans (SIPs), ownership by employee trusts and a wide variety of other share schemes.
