Brian J. Burt appointed to the Executive Committee of Better Business Bureau

Jan. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Brian J. Burt, a partner in the firm’s Phoenix office, has joined the executive committee of the Better Business Bureau of Central, Northern & Western Arizona (BBB) as secretary. Burt has been serving as a member of the board of directors of the BBB since 2008.  

The BBB’s board is comprised of 19 other business leaders who represent various industries and company sizes throughout the Valley. BBB is an unbiased organization that sets and upholds high standards for fair and honest business behavior. Businesses that earn BBB accreditation contractually agree and adhere to the organization’s high standards of ethical business behavior. BBB is a nonprofit organization established locally in 1938. In 2011, it provided over 2.5 million company reports to consumers via web and telephone and closed over 30,000 complaints. Snell & Wilmer’s firm founder, Frank L. Snell, served as BBB’s original legal counsel.

Burt, who also serves as Chair of Snell & Wilmer's Emerging Business Group, is a business lawyer advising entrepreneurs and emerging growth companies in all stages of development, from formation to liquidity. He represents banks, financial services companies, private investors and venture capital funds. Burt represents clients in a wide variety of industries, including banking and financial services, biotechnology, capital investment, consumer products and services, education, entertainment/media, healthcare, high tech, Internet, manufacturing, marketing/public relations, medical device, nutraceuticals, outdoor, professional services, real estate development, renewable energy and software and information technology. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he served as Managing Editor of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy, and his B.A., summa cum laude, from Allegheny College, where he was class valedictorian and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
