By: Paul Brannan - Inspire One of thirteen nominated race charities for this year’s 10k event, those running for Team Inspire will benefit from a range of extras, including a pre-race running group allowing you to train and make friends with some of the Inspire team prior to the event. The group leave Inspire’s head office on the Beach Boulevard at around 5pm on Friday from mid February onwards and runs a linear route down the Boulevard, along the esplanade to the River Don mouth, back along the beach front and then back to the Inspire office. Last year many staff and entrants joined the running group, proving to be a fun way to build up fitness and meet fellow team members prior to race day itself. Fiona Poustie, Head of Business Development & Communications at Inspire, states, "Running with Team Inspire at the 10k is a great way to take part in the event. Our aim is to make your day as memorable as possible by ensuring you are fully prepared for the race, offering complete support and training before, during and after the event whilst having fun and making some new friends in the process.” Team Inspire members will also benefit from a range of training and race tips, a power breakfast and warm up prior to the event, massage treatment, showering facilities and post event pasta party as well as receiving an official Team Inspire t-shirt, fundraising support and advice from our experienced team as well as advice on how to maximise your pre-race training through our weekly running group. Registration costs just £20 with each participant required to raise a minimum of £60 in sponsorship to support children, young people and adults with learning disabilities and additional support needs in the North East of Scotland. Last year Inspire’s fantastic team of runners raised in excess of £13,000, with the aim of smashing that figure this time around.
