With six cradles needed for each of 32 capsules, London Eye commissioned Bouncepad to create 192 bespoke enclosures for the Samsung 10.1" (25.65cm) tablet within only eight weeks. Each features an interactive, panoramic app allowing users to learn about the capital's iconic landscape by zooming into landmarks and points of interest. The apparatus helps the London Eye meet its commitments to safety, access and originality, and allows it to improve the customer experience by delivering high-quality digital content in a user-friendly format.
Bouncepad's trademark Gooseneck design permits users of all ages, heights and accessibility requirements to adjust the screen to the most comfortable possible viewing position, where it remains until moved again. Unsightly cables are hidden within the support, while options can be included to hide function buttons, making it a highly practical kiosk solution. For installers, though, Bouncepad offers the distinct advantage of combining sturdy materials like stainless steel and high-performance plastics with radio transparency – meaning that it can receive the WiFi and 3G signals necessary to take full advantage of modern tablet functionality.
"We were looking for functionality and security, so when the Bouncepad team brought their product into a London Eye capsule for the first time, it was clear that it was a natural fit," explains Davey Barrett, show services manager for EDF Energy London Eye. "The design and simplicity of the Bouncepad complements the aesthethic of the London Eye, and the company provided us with a tailor-made solution in record time."
"Bouncepad is rapidly becoming the ubiquitous solution for those who wish to harness the power of tablet devices safely without compromising on style, and we were thrilled to work with the prestigious London Eye on its latest project," comments Tobi Schneidler, founder of The Bouncepad, which is approaching its first anniversary. "Our modular products aim to improve the user experience in all sorts of environment, and that matches perfectly with the London Eye's ambition to deliver a new educational experience to its millions of visitors."
