Macha for Marques ' Almeida. A jewelry collection inspired by youth culture for SS12.

Jan. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Marques ' Almeida are an upcoming London based womenswear label, revered by fashion culture and street styles magazines for their ability to capture a youth code throughout their collections. For SS12, the duo were selected for the high profile Fashion East catwalk show, famed for scouting fashions future stars and one of London Fashion Week's hottest tickets.

Macha was introduced to the brand in early 2011, after discovering a mutual rawness of spirit. Initial conversations on 90s grunge styling ignited a desire to create a unique collection for the designers catwalk show in London.

The brief for the show was that the line show be 'easy and effortless, and reminiscent of precious keepsakes forgotten in a drawer. Perhaps they were found in a pack of cereals when you were little, or your grandmother bought it when you were born. Precious because it reminds the wearer of some time ago'.

Loosely inspired by the mid 90s film 'Wildwood' a beach resort in New Jersey, the line comprises of a series of personalised sterling silver pieces. Hand engraved bangles, rubber tube rings, single earrings and keepsake charms. Both brands are keen to continue the collaboration, and are excited for future seasons.
