Follow on Google News | NFL Alumni Strength In NumbersNFL Alumni Executive Director, George Martin, recently visited the Denver Bronco Alumni Association to review the new details of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Martin has been traveling to local Alumni groups to express "strength in numbers."
By: NFL Alumni The NFL Alumni has chapters in almost every NFL city, and is home to the largest membership association for retired professional football players. The NFL Alumni Association is also the only independent organization under the direction of former players. Executive Director George Martin has taken his “Call for Unity” message across the nation to local Alumni Chapters and other retired player organizations. Recently Martin met with constituents of the Denver Bronco Alumni. Nearly fifty retired Denver Broncos attended with a strong desire for change and a thirst for improvement. Martin discussed the recent CBA and more specifically the Legacy Fund. The CBA will allocate $1 billion to former players over the next 10 years. The Legacy benefit payments will account for just over $600 million. Other topics of discussion included the NFL Alumni Group Licensing Agreement (GLA) and Career and Business Program. The Denver Bronco turnout was the largest in the continuing Road Show tour. Martin noted, “It was a great turnout as all are coming in waves to express their need for change. This is a process I hope to see duplicated many times. It does not matter which organization you belong to, all retired NFL players are welcome.” As teams from the number one professional sports league in the nation prepare to take center stage at the Super Bowl, it is the NFL Alumni’s hope that all can put their disagreements and differences aside to harness the sense of unity and pride that are apparent as the culmination of another season concludes. “Call for Unity” is more than a message, it is a call for action. The NFL Alumni is organized to better serve the interests of all retired players. Join the NFL Alumni and its desire to unify all retired players.
