The author became aware of Blue Paws after his sister used the rescue to adopt a blind kitten, Tallulah. "She told me about the couple who ran the rescue, and all they did for the animals with their own money and small contributions. I had to help."
Blue Paws Facebook page states: "We are an all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit focused on feral cats using the Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) method. When we come across loving cats/kittens we do our best to find an equally loving home." Any animal finds a home with them, including those in need of surgery and/or rehabilitation.
Prairie Springs is included on the prestigious GLBT Literature site in the Recommended Fun Stuff category, and has gained a loyal following of fans. The story of Prairie Springs is an entertaining look at life in a seemingly conservative, small Texas town. The journey begins with the arrival of a new resident, who unknowingly exposes a secret, which culminates in an unexpected ending. Williamson wrote Prairie Springs with one mission: to make judging your neighbor impossible. He succeeded...and he did it with comedy.
Prairie Springs' Facebook page states that the sequel will be released in late-2012.
Proceeds from both paperback sales through Amazon, and downloads at Smashwords and Amazon, will go to Blue Paws.
