Author poses a key question - Who was Jesus brother?

One mainstream view is that Jesus had no brothers, nor family members. Other opposing mainstream views are that Jesus indeed had blood relations. In the book the End from the Beginning, author William Kassler exposes Jesus had to have a brother.

Jan. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Yesterday the earth was pounded with solar radiation from the largest sun-flares in modern history.  Why did I not see the aurora bourealis in Florida when looking north?  According to news clips the spectacle did happen, but I wasn't there to witness it.  When I stared into the sky, I saw the usual stars, clouds and darkness.

Just because I couldn't see it doesn't mean it wasn't there.

In history, the Catholic church states that Jesus had no brothers because they maintain that Mary, who gave birth to Jesus as a virgin, remained a virgin throughout her lifetime.  Bible reading individuals will recognize that clearly there are references in more than one place that Jesus had brothers and sisters.  One brother is James, who wrote the Book of James in the bible.  Jews, on the other hand, while giving some credence to Jesus as having been a person, they contend He could not have been born of a virgin but instead a "young" woman.  Yet all these monotheistic viewpoints are from the same source, the bible.

Finding Jesus brother must fit into scripture.  It's not just that the brother existed, but what was his role in the events that shaped the world?  Author William Kassler explores this very topic with accuracy in the book The End from the Beginning.

Looking over the evidence of the New Testament, the family of Jesus is mentioned in Matthew 13:55, "Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?" Blatant identification of the blood brothers of Jesus is undeniable. There is only one dialogue between Jesus and His brothers recorded in John 7.

Now the Jews' Feast of Tabernacles was at hand. His brothers therefore said to Him, "Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing. "For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world."  For even His brothers did not believe in Him.

Yet, Jesus is referred to as a kinsman redeemer, that is a redeemer of his brother, that is, of His family.  In this dialogue, which happened when Jesus was about 33 years of age, these brothers hardly seemed worthy.  They didn't believe Him after all those years, after all the miracles.

Author William Kassler searched the scriptures and found the secret brother, a brother worth saving.  In that opportunity for salvation, all of humanity is given the opportunity to obtain a restoration of what was stolen.

Who was the brother of Jesus that was worth saving?  Could there be a connection at the very beginning of time?
