There are two goals with this funding project. First, to purchase equipment, facilities, and licenses to expand distribution of the Dave’s Dirty Vanilla line of artisan extracts. Second, to assist farmers in Madagascar by paying a premium fair price for the vanilla beans used in Felton Foods’ products.
“Vanilla beans are a labor intensive crop and the primary source of income for most of these farmers,” according to Dave Felton, founder and owner. “Though our supplier, we will be able help make sure that the farmers in Madagascar can make an equitable living for their families”.
Through the crowdfunding model, Felton Foods is offering rewards for contributions. Anyone can participate with funding levels available from one-dollar to $100. The funding campaign runs through April 17, 2012. Felton Foods hopes to raise $15,000 which it would use for equipment, facilities, further licensing and distribution.

About Felton Foods
Felton Foods was founded in 2007 in the kitchen of owner Dave Felton when he started creating vanilla for his own use and for gifts for friends and family. Since then the Dave’s Dirty Vanilla brand has grown into extracts, whole vanilla beans, and even an all-natural lip balm.
