Jan. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- David Peterson, cofounder of Rudy’s Barbershop, gave MASTERS Audio Club a behind-the-scenes look into his up-and-coming companies. In 1993, along with business partners Alex Calderwood and Wade Weigel, David expanded upon the traditional notion of a barbershop to create a sense of community. Rudy’s organic experience was curated with a well-articulated blend of art, music, and sense of place. To this day, the initial vision of a cross-generational “community center” that acts as a source for creative energy, while offering a great haircut at a great price, remains the basis of Rudy’s mission. Rudy’s has expanded to 13 locations encompassing the Seattle metro area, Portland, and Los Angeles, with further growth slated for 2012, when Rudy’s opens a new shop in New York City.

With a focus on creating an enriching environment for his clientele while providing a high-quality haircut, David’s 26 years of industry experience were the inspiration for Rudy’s education program and the ultimate foundation for what Rudy’s does behind the chair. David is particularly passionate about building a strong, consistent staff through education and training, with a special emphasis on the overall customer experience.

Today, Rudy’s maintains an extremely loyal customer base and is fast becoming a well-known lifestyle brand. To meet the needs of its growing clientele and further redefine the barbershop experience, Rudy’s partners with Bumble and Bumble and Malin+Goetz while supporting upcoming brands like Baxter, Le Labo, Grants, and Level organic soaps. Rudy’s blueprint for retail success is not limited to beauty products, as it has established strategic partnerships with lifestyle brands like Ace Hotels, Apolis, TOMS Shoes, and The Stranger magazine. Rudy’s anchors its current community commitments and philanthropic projects to Real Medicine Foundation, Film Independent, and the It Gets Better Project.
