Diverse Practice Groups

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 25, 2012 – Farella Braun + Martel LLP adds three associates to the firm: Jenny Teaford joins the Business Litigation Group; Rochelle Lee Woods joins the Intellectual Property & Technology Group; and Ashley Breakfield joins the Environmental Law Group.

Teaford rejoins Farella after a five-year stint as an attorney with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. During her previous tenure at Farella, Teaford was a member of the Business Litigation Group and assisted in complex litigations including bankruptcy, Federal False Claims Act and contract disputes. Teaford obtained her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (2003), where she served as senior articles editor of the California Law Review.

Woods is an intellectual property litigator with a focus on patent and trademark infringement matters. She has represented pharmaceutical companies in infringement litigation and recently represented a medical devices company in a damages and willfulness trial relating to patent infringement.  She joins Farella from Kirkland & Ellis’ Intellectual Property Litigation Department in New York. Lee Woods received her J.D. from Harvard Law School (2008), where she volunteered with the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau and acted as web editor and technology chair of the Harvard Journal of Law and Gender. She served as a legal extern for Judge J. Michael Seabright of the District of Hawaii Federal Court.

Breakfield has experience in the areas of environmental law, natural resources and renewable energy. She obtained her J.D., cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (2011), where she was editor in chief of the Hastings West-Northwest Journal of Environmental Law and Policy. During law school, she served as a legal intern at the California Attorney General’s Office – Natural Resources Section and at the Center on Race, Poverty and the Environment in San Francisco. She also served as an extern for the Hon. Edward M. Chen of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California.
