Go West Creative: A Time of Rebirth, Restructure, and Rock Stars

Go West Creative is Ringing in the New Year with some Big and Exciting Changes...

Jan. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA. January 24, 2012. A significant force in the special events "world", Go West Creative (GWC) is known for its multimedia and event production, but it brings so much more to the proverbial table; its transformation into a globally recognized, full-service creative agency is inevitable. And building an infrastructure to properly support its goals is paramount.

"We have been so blessed to have experienced such unprecedented growth in the past 18 months. It made us [the executive team] take a look at how we were operating as a company and really ask the question, 'Do we have the right people sitting in the right seats on the bus to continue this type of exponential growth,'" explains David Fischette, CEO, Go West Creative. "The answer in some cases was 'no', so we began the process of moving some people to new seats and some to different buses altogether. And ultimately this began our new hiring motto of "Rock stars only". We want people from our industry that have a proven track record of huge successes in the execution of their jobs. This is what ultimately led us to Donna, Erika, Kim, Shin, and Steve."

The company's former vice president Kimberly Chasan Duffy, who has been with GWC since October 2009, has seamlessly slipped right into the role of president. "I am honored and very excited to take this company to the next level," says Duffy. "My goals are to shore up infrastructure so that we can assist the Fortune 500 in helping to execute and expand upon their strategies. After all, that is what we do best. My second goal is to marry the creative world with all of the most up-to-date technologies as they continue to arise."

With her background, there's no doubt that she will achieve every goal. On the cutting-edge of media, technology, and law, Duffy spent years as an entertainment lawyer, practicing transactional and intellectual property law, working with leading companies including New World Entertainment, Marvel Comics, and Interscope Pictures. Through this, she saw the rise of the "online revolution" and co-founded Emusic.com, the first Internet MP3 digital music download site. From there, Duffy travelled the world, started an import business, got involved in philanthropic ventures – and then she met Fischette. Since that time, she has been placing her unique and charmed touch on GWC.

To reorganize and restructure the production department, Donna Richardson, Vice President of Production, was hired. "With growth comes change and that is what I've been brought on board to do," says Richardson. "My goals are to have a strong foundation upon which we can grow. I am here to implement clearly defined roles, procedures, paths, and values – the Go West way. There is so much potential here. I know that being a part of this company will take me to places I'd only dreamed of." Having worked for Viacom Pictures, Extraordinary Events and Ethos Design, Richardson's background is one of strength and knowledge, and she'll bring that to GWC in abundance.

One of GWC's newest "rock stars", Erika Lohmar, left Chicago to become the company's Director of Production. "Being a part of GWC is incredible," says Lohmar. "David recruited me because of what I brought to the table, and in return, a new door opened and it enabled me to see a whole new world. The art, our philosophy…the product we produce is a whole different kind of creative. It is so internally and externally motivating." In this role, she oversees production elements and the details of each event. Working closely with Richardson, she will help to implement processes, bring structure, and organization to the internal team.

According to Robin Fischette, chairman of Go West Creative, the company is being extremely strategic in its direction. "I am elated with our choices," she says. "Kim, Donna, Erika, and of course, David … they are all incredible. We are putting the right people in place to take the company to the next level."

Additionally, Steve Davis has been named Controller, handling all of the accounting and operations. And to put the perfect Motion Graphics Designer in place, GWC searched near and far, ultimately finding Shinichiro Matsuda in Tokyo, Japan. Shin was relocated to Los Angeles to become an integral part of GWC's team. He has worked in visual effects and computer animation studios creating prime-time TV series, commercials, music videos, and games. He has executed various roles of production (including modeling, animation, texturing, lighting, rendering), and has produced high-end visual effects and motion graphics for clients the likes of Disney, BMW, Sony Pictures, Hitachi, and others.
