GreenFields of Geneva Community Blessing Commemorates New Beginnings, Welcomes Residents

Jan. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Geneva, Ill. — The finishing touches are being put on GreenFields of Geneva, a $137 million Life Care community sponsored by Friendship Senior Options NFP that has been under construction in Kane County since September 2010. The not-for-profit continuing care retirement community (CCRC) offers a variety of residential options, exceptional services and amenities, and a quality health care program. Future residents, staff and board members will gather in GreenFields’ Friendship Hall for a community blessing at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 29.

    “We’re delighted to be celebrating this special milestone with more than 100 of our future residents, as many of them will begin enjoying their new lifestyle at GreenFields very soon,” said Judi Donovan, Executive Director for GreenFields. “We’ve been a community in spirit for some time, but now we’re able to come together to build upon the friendships that have been formed as the basis of lasting relationships. We’re all very proud and truly thankful for all involved to bring this beautiful community to life.”   

    The community is a significant investment in the western Chicago suburbs, and when fully operational will create 134 full-time equivalent jobs.

    Donovan will be joined by President and CEO of Friendship Senior Options Stephen A. Yenchek and other community leaders to address invited guests, including future residents and staff members. A reception and community open house for residents and board members will follow the ceremony.

    Located on 26 acres off Keslinger Road, GreenFields is a sister community to Friendship Village in Schaumburg, Ill., and designed for seniors who want a vibrant, social and wellness-focused lifestyle today, but who are also seeking the added security of having any future care needs met on one campus.  

    GreenFields offers 147 maintenance-free apartment homes, with a variety of floor plans, many of which have views of Tanna Farms Golf Course. The community was specifically designed to complement the full lifestyle older adults are already living, by providing amenities and programs that accent whole-person wellness.
