Jan. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- New data released by the UK’s largest discount website has revealed that in the past twelve months, consumers have searched for discounts on cosmetic surgery on-site more so than in any other year. Specifically, searches for ‘cheap breast implants’ and ‘cheap Botox’ have drastically increased.

The UK’s largest discount website has released new site statistics that have revealed an increase in searches on the website for discounted cosmetic surgery, specifically, ‘cheap breast implants’.

Despite the recent problems associated with PIP implants, according to the figures searches for ‘cheap breast implants’ rose by 203% throughout 2011; when compared to the number of searches made in 2010.

The new figures, released by www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, have shown that, when compared to searches made throughout the year in 2010, searches for general ‘cosmetic surgery discounts’ increased four-fold in the past 12 months.

Further to  ‘cheap breast implants’, searches made on the discount website included ‘cheap Botox’. Similarly, these searches had also seen a rise in the past twelve months, having risen by 176% in 2011 from the number of searches made for this term in 2010.

As well as Botox and breast implants, searches for ‘discounted nose jobs’ have doubled on-site in the past twelve months. Consumers also searched for deals on ‘liposuction’ 150% more, when compared to the same time period in 2010.

In contrast, searches for ‘discounted buttock implants’ on the MyVoucherCodes.co.uk website reduced by 80% throughout 2011.  Similarly, searches on the site for ‘cheap labiaplasty’ reduced by 32% in the past twelve months.

Mark Pearson, Chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, said the following about the new figures:

“Searching for discounts is always something that I would recommend, as consumers are often surprised by the amount of products and services that offer discounts. However, having said this, searching for discounts for such serious cosmetic procedures isn’t something I would necessarily recommend. It is important that all medical procedures are undertaken with a reputable surgeon and are well thought out, so people shouldn’t necessarily see a discount for a medical procedure as reason to have something done.”

He continued:

“Cosmetic surgery is no less serious than general surgery. Procedures such as breast implants still put the body through a great deal of stress, and it really isn’t a decision that should be taken lightly. Anyone looking to have a procedure done should be sure to research the procedure and surgeon thoroughly before committing to anything.”
