SEM Link Inc hosts 2nd Annual San Francisco Bay Area STEM Career and Exhibition for Bay Area youth

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan. 24, 2012 - On Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 10:00am- 2:00 pm, Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc (SEM Link) will host its 2nd Annual San Francisco Bay Area Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Career Fair and Exhibition at Laney College Student Center.  This event will provide K-12 students with an opportunity to explore careers and meet and interact with professionals in these fields.  Laney College is located at 900 Fallon Street, Oakland, CA. The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Career Fair and Exhibition is the signature event for the Math and Science Career Academy. The STEM Career Fair and Exhibition, which is free and open to the public, features exhibitors, STEM professionals, and students who will discuss their careers, conduct hands-on demonstrations or showcase real world applications of math and science.  The event is designed to facilitate students visiting the tables of the exhibitors and moving freely between activities. “Our 1st Annual San Francisco Bay Area STEM Career Fair was our introduction to the Bay Area. It showed us that Bay Area youth needed exposure to STEM careers and an opportunity to connect with STEM professionals” Founder and Executive Director Tokiwa Smith said. “Since then we have established relationships within the community that will allow us to expose more youth to more STEM careers at this year’s fair.”
