Corning resident Fran Watson is a dedicated and driven artist opening an exhibit of her new work at the Red Bluff Art Gallery on Friday, February 3. Ms. Watson is 93-years-young.
The exhibit is called “Songs of Divine Intent Collection” and will feature paintings and written work by Watson.
“Fran has her own unique style. She developed her style as a ‘spiritual painter’ and ‘constructionist’
Watson is also a writer and has recently had her 11th book published. Enititled, “What If…We the People” it explores the possibility of individual transformation into a more spiritual human being. She will be signing copies of the new book at her Opening Reception on Friday, February 3rd.
“I truly believe that we are all basically creative geniuses at heart, using our God given creativity as a means of developing our human life, persona, and world.” says Ms. Watson, “ I hope my art and poetry will reflect some of that.”
This high-energy artist will have about 35 pieces on exhibit. She paints everyday and has 11 new pieces in the works at the moment. She is also working on her next book.
“Fran has a lot of energy and uses it to express herself in her art and writing. She works harder than a lot of younger people and has accomplished a great deal in her life,” says Gallery Director Nelson.
Watson formerly had art studios in Oroville and Grass Valley over the years. She now works out of her studio in Corning.
“I look to the future with joyful anticipation. It has taken me a long time to ‘grow-up’ and I aim to make the most of it,” relates Fran.

An Artists’ Reception and Opening will be held at the Red Bluff Art Gallery, 601 Walnut Street, on Friday, February 3, from 5 to 8 PM. All are welcome and dress is casual.
