Jan. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Asigra Inc., a leading Cloud Backup™ and recovery software provider since 1986, today announced findings from its 2012 Partner Advisory Council meeting in Chicago. With the goal of improving the user experience, this year’s agenda included streamlining service provider interactivity with Asigra operations, reviewing customer requirements and understanding emerging industry trends expected to impact the cloud backup and recovery industry.

The Asigra Partner Advisory Council includes 12 service provider members who meet regularly with Asigra and provide feedback to the company’s management team. This feedback includes information on product functionality, daily operations and end-user outreach. Additionally, partners on the council provide insight on vertical applications of the technology, regional variances and the impact of emerging technology trends on cloud backup usage and adoption.

"Perhaps one of the most serious considerations for managed service providers is ensuring that data is protected, secure, and quickly recoverable, 24x7. While nearly every other IT issue can be remediated, data loss, downtime, and security breaches cannot. Delivering on the tight recovery time and recovery point objectives demanded by today’s agile businesses, without compromising either security or data integrity, requires constant innovation across cloud and mobile platforms,” said council advisory member, Alan McDonald, President of XiloCore. “The advisory council provides a platform for discussing efficient approaches to these challenges, and shares the collective wisdom of the council with senior team members at Asigra on behalf and for the benefit of all Asigra ecosystem members."

Key areas of discussion during the January 2012 council meeting included:
·       Increasing interest in private cloud backup
·       Profit opportunities in hybrid cloud backup
·       Advanced functionality in Asigra Cloud Backup
·       ROI/TCO advantages and the business case for customers
·       End-to-end data protection strategies
·       Mobile device evolution and support
·       Current macro-economic factors

According to Craig Hurley, Senior Product Manager for NTT America, “The business case for cloud-based data protection was a common theme throughout all discussions at the meeting. It is clear from the customer adoption rate and the reasons many customers give for switching from traditional technologies that legacy approaches have failed to live up to their promises. Enterprises in particular seek a more secure, compliant and reliable data protection platform and cloud backup delivers.”

“The Asigra Partner Advisory Council is an important part of our collective intelligence, keeping us in front of trends and customer requirements that affect our entire ecosystem. This enables us to provide our partners with needed sales and marketing tools supporting their efforts to capture more market share,” said Tracy Staniland, Senior Director Corporate Marketing, Asigra. “This first North American council meeting of 2012 afforded Asigra with especially useful information in the areas of private and hybrid cloud computing, both of which are expected to gain traction among enterprises in 2012.”
