Jan. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- ALAMEDA – In December of 2011, Alameda, California based Campbell/Harris Security Equipment Company (CSECO) was invited to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The purpose of the visit to Riyadh, the political capital of KSA, was to demonstrate a range of CSECO contraband detection equipment to various law enforcement entities within the KSA. A number of agencies in KSA had heard of CSECO’s equipment and the successes various other nations have had using these products to secure their borders and requested a private demonstration to better understand and evaluate this leading technology.

Hosted by of one of Saudi’s largest and most respected security contractors, CSECO had the opportunity to present its offerings to the KSA equivalent of the United States Department of State and U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The security firm and both government agencies were very impressed with the items, specifically the Buster® K910B Contraband Detector and the FV-Series Fiberscope, and preliminary discussions of a longer-term relationship ensued. One agency official had previously possessed a Buster® Contraband Detector and noted that one of the additional benefits of the visit was the opportunity to gain a better understanding of how best to employ and utilize the equipment to accomplish key border security goals.

Damaune Y. Journey, Director of International Sales & Marketing for CSECO represented the company in Saudi Arabia. During a discussion with a top-ranking official in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Journey had this to say to about the opportunity in Saudi Arabia, “Saudi Arabia as one of the largest and wealthiest countries in the region has much to protect, not the least of which is an amazing citizenry, culture, and devout way of life. Given some of the Kingdom’s varied and plentiful neighbors, border security is a chief concern and CSECO is willing and able to help in that effort”. CSECO, typically one of a number of companies on international visits of this sort, was the sole invited guest on this occasion. “This highlights to us the value placed on our equipment and brings CSECO tremendous pride and honor to be the held in such high regard.” Journey said. “Hopefully, the next visit will be one to train officers on this equipment’s highest and best use to make the Kingdom even more safe and to secure its people and their future.”

CSECO manufactures contraband detection equipment, namely the CT-30 Contraband Team Inspection Kit and the Buster® K910B Contraband Detector, used most often in the U.S. and abroad at checkpoints – land and sea - to inspect vehicles and vessels for smuggled goods. For over 25 years this equipment has been used to limit the flow of illegal narcotics, currency, and explosives into the U.S. and its partners.
