In Mancini’s new religious mystery/thriller, he implies that Jesus Christ will return in female form for the second coming. Drawing his inspiration from topics such as the “sacred feminine” often discussed in Dan Brown’s novels the DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons, Michael Mancini details a fictional story about what happens leading up to Christ’s return.
Mancini’s 500 page novel speaks of the ancient clandestine organization called Cavalieri di Satana who, according to legend, must hunt down and sacrifice an innocent child before Christ inhabits her body at thirty years old for the Second Coming.
Religious fanatics expressed their displeasure by staging a prayer vigil in public in front of the author’s residence Saturday night from 8 to 9 p.m. Eastern Standard time according to several witnesses.
“It’s (the novel) pure fiction. I wrote it to illustrate the point that good and evil reside in the human heart and that each of us have the power to choose either one countless times a day.” says Mancini.
Several other novelists have written controversial novels touching on religion, some of which have met with similar opposition. One thing is for sure, if Revelation by Michael Mancini causes that much of a stir among religious fanatics, it must be worth reading.
According to critics, “Revelation by Michael Mancini is sure to be the best selling religious thriller of the summer season!” says the Ocean Book Review, January 2012.
