Jan. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA, February 18, 2012:  The mix-up we’re speaking of is called STIR (Sounds, Thoughts, Ideas, and Rhymes) and it’s coming to the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center (3181 Rainbow Dr., Decatur, GA 30034) on February 18, 2012. STIR is an interactive blending of the arts, live performances, and party scenes. STIR is simply put, a movement!  Past STIR event attendees have enjoyed mixing and mingling with the likes of Tony Award winner Georgia Me, actor and poet Malcolm Jamal Warner, HBO Def Poets Amir Sulaiman and Jon Goode, live performances by recording artists Dru Hill, and Shai just to name a few!  February’s Power of Love themed event will not disappoint!  Guests will be able to attend an interactive live discussion with the highly sought after electric and empowering speaker Dr. Alduan Tartt, or be transported with delight by spoken word from STIR Rhymes Room host, Dichotomy the Poet.  STIR doesn’t stop there!  On the main stage of February’s event will be host Lavar Walker with performances by Joey Summerville and Joey’s friends including the incomparable Tony Terry and the soulful vocalists Martin Nelson and Phillippia!  Come out and take pleasure in a live performance by the Playlist Band, Detroit Ballroom Hustle dance lessons, or get into sip and stroke styled canvas painting.  STIR is pulling out all the stops on this one with an Icebreaker Session, DJ, cash bar, vendors, and a host of surprises and special guest performances that you will not want to miss!  Partial STIR proceeds benefit Project ARM (Atlanta Renaissance Movement), a 501c3 organization empowering youth through the arts.

STIR, brought to you by E Period, LLC, is the only event in Metro Atlanta where you can experience live bands, comedian hosts, poets, painters, singers, improvisational comedy, dance tutorials, and musicians under one roof.  A grand mix-up indeed!  STIR’s founder Chris “Cocktails” Cornell has recently been highlighted on CBS Better Mornings Atlanta and CW69’s Focus Atlanta for STIR event's consistent showcase and innovative production. When asked how he describes STIR, Mr. Cornell affectionately smiles then responds, “STIR is a potpourri of eclectic artistic experiences in one evening.”  Without a doubt!
