For over 20 years, CBT College has been offering the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance to its students and staff and this year, services are being offered to the public. “We are truly excited to be able to offer these services to the public. We have always had VITA available to our students and staff, so we feel its important to also offer these services to the community as we continue to pull away from the recession. People need these services today for free and they need a credible place to do it, and that’s exactly what we are delivering,”
VITA volunteers are trained and tested in current tax laws, using the latest IRS materials to provide the various services offered. The volunteers are prepared to aid in the completion of the following returns:
• Form 1040 EZ
• Form 1040 A
• With Schedule 1, 2, 3 & EIC
• Form 1040
• Form 1040-V
• Form 1040-ES
• Form 2141 (Child & Dependent Care Credit)
• Form 8863 (Educational Credits)
• Form 8812 (Additional Child Tax Credit)
Individuals who make an appointment with VITA should bring:
• Current year’s tax package and or label
• All forms W-2 and 1099’s
• Information for other income
• Information for al deductions/credits
• A copy of last year’s tax return
• Proof of account for direct deposit of refund (e.g., voided check)
• Social Security or Individual Taxpayer Identification cards
for you, your spouse, and/or dependents.
• Proof of identification for yourself and/or your spouse.
