YMCA Spring Break Camps In Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and Agoura Hills

Jan. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF. -- Kids can enjoy week-long spring camps in Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and Agoura Hills through the local branches of the YMCA. Camps coincide when school is not in session.

The Triunfo YMCA, serving Agoura Hills, Oak Park and Westlake Village, will host a spring break camp from April 9 through April 13 at the YMCA childcare facilities at Willow Elementary School (29026 Laro Dr., Agoura Hills). The camp is for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade. Extended hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Conejo Valley YMCA will host two spring break camps from March 19 through 23 for Moorpark and Conejo Valley students at: MATES (Meadows Art & Technology Elementary School) in Thousand Oaks (2000 La Granada Drive) and Peach Hill Academy in Moorpark (13400 Christian Barrett Rd.). The camp is for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. Extended hours are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.


Each day of camp will feature a different holiday theme. Monday will feature Presidents' Day, Tuesday offers a salute to July 4, Wednesday will be Halloween themed, Thursday will be Cinco De Mayo day and Friday will be a St. Patrick's Day celebration. Every day will include outdoor activities such as a shamrock hunt, monster mash dance and capture the flag game, and arts and crafts projects including making cotton ball beards, American flags and noisemakers.

"Campers will be very busy," says Chrissy Ehrlich, Triunfo YMCA lead program director. "We make sure they have fun and stay active and stimulated."

The camps are run by the YMCA's licensed daycare providers. Campers do not need to be currently enrolled in YMCA childcare to participate.
