VIDA Fitness To Open At City Vista On Tuesday

Jan. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Washington, DC – VIDA Fitness is muscling its way into the New Year with the grand opening of a new location. Urban Adventures Companies, Inc., the parent corporation for VIDA Fitness, announced today that VIDA Fitness-City Vista will open its doors for business this Tuesday, January 24 at 12:30 p.m. making it the company’s fifth facility in Washington at 445 K Street, NW in the City Vista “city within a city” mixed-use residential complex in DC’s Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood. After a two-month, $500,000 intensified renovation of the former gym, Urban Adventures will unveil more than 25,000 square feet of upscale fitness space devoted to cardio, strength, group and personal training amenities.
    Designed by Stoneking-von Storch Architects of Charlottesville, VA and Hallock Design Group of Miami, FL, VIDA’s newest location is strategically divided into sections to maximize members and guests’ wellness experience exhibiting a highly-stylized atmosphere that has become the hallmark of VIDA Fitness. Like its VIDA counterparts, throughout the Mt. Vernon facility VIDA’s inventive and creative design is separated into transitional spaces through the use of texture and color featuring a variety of health, fitness and personal training services.
    A 35-foot vestibule and grand staircase greets members upon entry. VIDA’s signature programmable color changing LED lights illuminate and enhance the grand stairway and pendant above creating altered changes in ambiance. A guest lounge is located at the top of the grand stair with the popular Fuel Bar serving nutritional smoothies and healthy snacks, which will open in the second delivery phase slated for late 2012. Further down the corridor are the men’s and women’s locker rooms, which include private saunas and steam rooms that are specific to this location highlighting rainfall showers that are heat generated from the air conditioning and heating systems powered by Wind Energy. The reinvigorating Aura Spa will also occupy this area and is slated to open its fourth location in 2013.
    VIDA Fitness-City Vista’s workout spaces are artfully designed into three main zones. Zone one is dedicated to cardiovascular exercise housing state-of-the-art cardio machines, which include individual viewing screens, and the revolutionary Spin Studio. Imaginatively terraced to enhance the riding experience, the Spin Studio features innovative Keiser Cycles. Divided by the VIDA Altar communal area that accommodates exercise towels and big screen television monitors, Zone Two is devoted to strength training with free weight equipment by Life Fitness and Precor and dumbbells provided by Intek. Zone Three is reserved for flexibility training and accommodates the Group Fitness Studio, Inner Fitness Studio and abdominal stretch areas.  
    VIDA Fitness-City Vista delivers a premier health club facility offering classes, state-of-the-art machines, personal trainers and extra high-end amenities that are characteristically found in VIDA’s other four locations at Verizon Center, Logan Circle, the Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel and the recently opened 51,000-square-foot flagship on U Street.
