NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano, was the first and is the largest and most innovative private academy recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). NABA undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in visual arts, communication and design are legally recognised in Europe and all over the world.

NABA was founded in 1980 by a group of renowned artists with a mission to foster contemporary visions and practices within high art education, cultivating the creativity of their students, and helping them turn their artistic passion into a fulfilling, productive profession. NABA’s training methodology thoroughly integrates classroom study with experiential workshops, their professors are highly skilled educators who are also practicing art and design professionals. The multidisciplinary approach combines traditional visual disciplines with new digital technologies, and synthesises individual study with group project work. Projects are developed in collaboration with Italian and foreign companies and institutions, to give students hands-on workplace opportunities and to develop their critical thinking, conceptual problem-solving, and practical artistic and design skills. Among the 2000 students, 24% come from 55 different foreign countries, underlining the NABA community’s broad diversity of cultures and ideas.

Domus Academy, Milan

Domus Academy established itself in the 1980’s as the world’s first postgraduate school of design: a place of advanced training and a research laboratory on processes of industrial creativity, scenarios of aesthetics and consumption, space-time relations and utility and private service.  Domus Academy constantly looks at radical changes linked to new technologies.

Domus Academy attracts students from all over the world: in 2010 there were 240 from 44 different countries.
