Vivel Announces ‘Reach for the Stars’ creative writing contest

to realize one’s true potential as the next literary icon. Vivel announces ‘Reach for the Stars’, an exciting creative writing contest, in association with Kolkata Literary Meet. Vivel invites aspiring writers to present their literary pieces to the eminent authors at Kolkata Literary Meet, a six day event during the International Kolkata Book Fair, starting from Thursday, January 26, 2012 to Tuesday, January 31st, 2012.

The participants can send their literary pieces in English or Bengali in two categories. Category A – Stories and Category B – Poems. Entrants are encouraged to participate by sharing a writing piece, which either starts with “Reach for the Stars” or concludes with “….. and I reached for the stars”. Based on the brand’s philosophy of ‘Chhoo Lo Aasman’, through this contest, Vivel encourages talented writers to achieve their dreams of making it big in the literary circuit and meet and interact with the most admired writers in the country.

Chandril Bhattacharya, a popular Bengali columnist, lyricist (one of the main lyricists of the popular band Chandrabindoo), poet, singer and director, says, “I feel Vivel’s ‘Reach for the Stars’ is an encouraging initiative to bring out the best writing talents in Kolkata. As part of this unique contest, the best entry in each category in each language will win an IPad.  Top 20 entries in each category in each language will be published on Kolkata Literary Meet website and all the participants will be invited to attend all sessions of the Literary Meet.
Participants can email their entry to vivelcreativewriting@kolkatalitmeet.in or can send a hard copy to Vivel Creative Writing Contest, C/o Gameplan Sports Pvt. Ltd, 19B Shakespeare Sarani, 2nd Floor, Kolkata on or before Tuesday, 24th January 2012.
