Lachi Release Free Solo Piece “Illusion” MP3 and Video

Jan. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- NEW YORK (Jan. 23, 2012)-- Showcasing her expressive voice and phrasing, Lachi’s “Illusion” is a stripped down track recorded in one take in Brooklyn’s Royal Blue Studios, and produced by Stanley Banks, bassist for George Benson, on tape with no frills. The song deals with universal themes of acceptance in a straightforward way.

“We, most of us, hide behind illusions and are afraid of the change we’d face in others if we finally unveiled,” says Lachi. “However, the tune is hopeful, as it points out that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.” The video for “Illusion” is stark and visually compelling, alternating between shots of a lone Lachi at the piano and a woman suffering an internal struggle.  Given the themes of redemption and biblical allusions, New York’s Church For All Nations seemed the perfect setting for the video.  Amazingly, the whole thing was shot on the lunch break of another Lachi video shoot, “Bug Out”.
