“The name says it all – Let's Be Wild – let's leave the couch, leave the unnecessary baggage behind and head out in search of a more meaningful life filled with exploration and adventure,” says founder and Editor-in-Chief Nick Zantop. A noted fashion photographer, but also a lifelong adventurer with a serious case of wanderlust, Zantop came up with the concept for the site after finding that few websites offered any adventure travel content that was all inclusive and unique. “Like most everything on the internet, the adventure travel genre also seemed to be inundated with unoriginal, uninspired content. When I'm not on photoshoots, I like to be out in the wild, and when I can't be out in the wild I love to at least read about the exciting adventures others have experienced around the world” Figuring he wasn't alone in his desire to read inspiring adventure travel stories, he founded LetsBeWild.com.
The response was overwhelming and in just over two months, LetsBeWild.com has grown to become one of the most talked about and highly trafficked websites in the Adventure Travel genre, attracting thousands of weekly visitors from over 95 countries. A Photo of the Day contest http://www.potd.letsbewild.com features one outstanding reader-submitted photo each day and has showcased the photography of some of the world's top landscape and travel photographers. Featured stories take the reader across the scorching desert sands of Egypt to the remote and snowy mountaintops of Bolivia and the frigid waters of Alaska's Inside Passage. These incredible stories of adventure offer far more than bare facts – they capture the emotion, adrenaline, and excitement of exploration and inspire the reader to seek their own adventures in life. From mountain climbing to endurance motorcycle riding, sea kayaking to scuba diving, LetsBeWild.com has something for everyone, even the armchair adventurer.
“LetsBeWild.com has been a great place to share my adventures in Canada photographing the breathtaking Northern Lights with other adventurers all over the world. I love being able to write about my own experiences in the wild and reading about the global exploration that others are undertaking in places like Tasmania and Nepal,” says contributing editor Karl Johnston, one of Canada's top adventure photographers.
Adventure is an emotional experience, and it’s that emotion – that unquenchable thirst and yearning for exploration, that the stories and photos on LetsBeWild.com inspire with.
