E-Therapy with an E-Therapist for Anxiety & Depression

By: Peter Strong, PhD

Jan. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- E-Therapy, or electronic-therapy is now widely available online. It allows you to work with an e-therapist from the comfort of your own home, which is a preferable option for many people. We use the internet to shop and gain the information we need in so many areas of our life. It only makes sense that we should be able to get the help we need for anxiety, depression and emotional stress.
Many people do not want to go to see a local therapist - it doesn't feel comfortable for many, and the "clinical" approach of older style therapists does not feel right for many people. Most people simply want some guidance on how to work with difficult emotions. We want practical skills for getting over anxiety or depression or trauma, not a diagnosis.

The E-therapy movement is attempting to address this need, and it is a big need, as so many people suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, depression and stress. Depression affects 10% of the population and anxiety disorders are a major factor that adversely affects the quality of life for many.

Dr. Peter Strong, professional therapist and author of "The Path of Mindfulness Meditation" has developed a practical approach for helping people manage anxiety, depression and stress called Mindfulness Therapy. This form of psychotherapy works extremely well for anxiety and panic attacks by teaching you how to break free from the underlying patterns of habitual reactivity that feed anxiety, depression and stress.

Mindfulness Therapy is now available online via Skype. Skype video call e-therapy allows you to talk face-to-face with an e-therapist as if you were in the office together.
For people living abroad or for people who cannot leave home, this e-therapy approach is very convenient indeed. Talking with an e-therapist is far less intimidating than in person, and this can be very important if you are shy or suffering from social anxiety or agoraphobia.

Mindfulness Therapy is becoming a very popular choice for many, but there may not be a Mindfulness Therapist available locally, and this is why Dr. Strong has made it available as e-therapy via Skype.

If you would like to schedule a Skype session with an e-therapist, please complete the Contact Form on my website.
