Onward Promotions To Present Lost 80's Live Concert In Sacramento CA With A Flock Of Seagulls & More

Feb. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Onward Promotions will present a Lost 80's Live concert In Sacramento, CA on August 10th at the Crest Theatre with A Flock Of Seagulls, The Motels, Clive Farrington and Andrew Mann formerly of When In Rome, Bourgeois Tagg, Gene Loves Jezebel, & The Escape Club.  Tickets will be available from Tickets.com and will include opportunities for VIP packaging that will include a meet-n-greet with members of the bands.

The Lost 80's Live concert series, now in it's 7th year, features some of the most recognizable acts from that decade and is a unique opportunity to see a number of fan favorites performing live on one stage. The tour has been described by fans nationwide as a greatest hits show where every song played could legitimately be on a number of greatest hits albums.

These are the bands we grew up watching on MTV back when they played music videos in the 80's. With the current resurgence of everything 80's, we believe this concert will be a hit with the fans that come out to see these bands performing their hits."

A Flock of Seagulls are an English New Wave band originally formed by brothers Michael "Mike" Score (keyboards, vocals) and Alister "Ali" James Score (drums), with Frank Maudsley (bass) and Paul Reynolds (guitar).  The group had a string of international hit singles including "I Ran (So Far Away)", "Space Age Love Song," "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)" and "The More You Live, the More You Love", and became notable in the 1980s for their MTV video for the song "I Ran (So Far Away)".  The band earned a Grammy award in 1983 for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for "D.N.A.", an instrumental song from their debut effort., A Flock of Seagulls (album).  Mike Score continues to tour with other musicians as A Flock Of Seagulls.

The Motels are a New Wave music band from the Los Angeles area best known for "Only the Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer", each of which peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982 and 1983, respectively. Their song "Total Control" reached number 4 on the Australian charts in 1980. Martha Davis, the lead singer, continues to appear under The Motels with various line-ups.

Original WHEN IN ROME vocalists Clive Farrington and Andrew Mann appeared on When in Rome's debut record in 1987 that includes the smash hit “The Promise”. Clive and Andrew are also the original vocalists appearing in the music video “The Promise”.  The song was also featured at the end of the popular movie, Napolean Dynamite.   They have joined together with percussionist Rob Juarez and guitarist Danny Phillips but can't use the name When In Rome because the original keyboardist trademarked it in the US.  Doug Ford of Onward Promotions said, "We found it odd that the name was trademarked by one band member who didn't even sing the songs on the band's popular album.  As music fans, especially 80's music, we prefer to hear the original singers so we decided to just deal with the longer name in order to deliver what we consider to be a better product for us and our concert attendees.  All of the bands for this show will feature the original singers."

In the late 1970s, Brent Bourgeois and Larry Tagg played played in a Sacramento band named Uncle Rainbow, which included members from Texas and other parts of the South.  In 1984, they moved to Sacramento and formed Bourgeois Tagg with guitarist Lyle Workman, drummer Michael Urbano, and keyboardist Scott Moon.  Bourgeois played keyboards, Tagg played bass, and both shared lead vocal duties.  In 1988, the band released the Todd Rundgren produced multimillion selling album YoYo that contained the Billboard Top 40 US hit, "I Don't Mind At All', which was also a worldwide Top Five hit on the Adult Contemporary chart.  The song's success was fueled by an innovative video that received heavy airplay on MTV and other music video outlets.  Brent and Larry occasionally reunite and perform with other musicians as Bourgeois Tagg.

Michael Aston, born August 22, 1964, is the founder and current leader of Gene Loves Jezebel.  Michael owns the exclusive rights to Gene Loves Jezebel in the US and continues to perform and release new material as Gene Loves Jezebel throughout the world. The exception being the UK where Michael will perform and release material as Michael Aston's Gene Loves Jezebel.  The band is known for popular songs such as "Love In Motion", "Heartache", "Desire (come and get it)", and "Gorgeous".

In 1987, The Escape Club moved to Atlantic Records for their album, Wild Wild West. The album was released in the summer of 1988. The first single, "Wild, Wild West" climbed to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the song's distinctive video received a lot of MTV airplay.
