The program is designed for HR professionals planning to take the PHR or SPHR certification exam, companies who value enhanced professionalism in the human resource function, experienced managers new to human resource management, PHR professionals seeking to upgrade their certification to SPHR, HR professionals who value career growth and a deeper understanding of the entire HR body of knowledge, certified PHR and SPHR professionals who want to earn credit toward recertification.
The course covers six functional areas, responsibilities and associated knowledge defined by the Human Resource Certification Institute. Sessions will focus on strategic business management, workforce planning and employment, human resource development, total rewards, employee and labor relations, and risk management.
The SHRM Learning System provides comprehensive and effective PHR/SPHR training through a blended format of printed workbooks and web-based study tools, including the “Plan to Pass” tool that takes an attendant’s pre-test score combined with his or her level of HR experience to create a study plan for areas that require the most attention. This also allows students to track their progress to ensure they’re reaching their goals.
Participants who attend and actively engage in all sessions, meeting SHRM’s prescribed requirements, will be awarded 3.5 continuing education units and a noncredit Chancellor’s Certificate from UMSL, as well as an SHRM certificate of completion.
